Hierophant’s Robe of Hekate
$60.00 – $366.00
In the ancient Greek mysteries a Hierophant is that person who brings the congregants into the presence of the divine.
Through the study of the ancient Greek magical tradition and the neopagan movement, the Artistic Workshop of LOGOS 373 introduce the Hierophant’s Robe of Hecate. A complete set of clothing that consists of three different parts: the Black Robe, the Scarlet Robe, and the Belt.
The BLACK ROBE, made with marocain fabric – a fine fabric used by the byzantine monks for thousand of years – embroidered with the theurgic symbols of Hekate (torches) and the occult names of Hekate based on the Greek Magical Papyri: Tauropis, Hippocthon, Kion and Dracaena which is her fourth secret name. These titles, written in ancient Greek, are embroidered at the four points of the tunic so that the Hierophant (man or woman) faces each of the four directions with the corresponding magical synthimata. On the front side of the Black Robe is a chain with three keys, symbolizing that the Hierophant is kleidouchos, the key-holder of the cosmos.
The SCARLET ROBE, made by the finest fabric of deep red velvet, is a loose sleeveless tunic.
The BELT made by the finest fabric of black velvet and embroidered with gold thread, has the 12 symbols of the zodiac stating that Hekate as the Soul of the World (according to the Chaldean Oracles) surrounds the whole of existence – the three fields: that of Spirits, that of Men and that of Gods.
The symbols on the set have no decorative purpose! Their selection and composition was done in order for the wizard to bring everything that will help him coordinate with the energy of Hekate to perform his theurgy.
The parts that make up the set can be purchased seperately or in combination.
The skull in the picture is not part of the clothing set.
- Who is a Hierophant
Who is a Hierophant
The Hierophant was a high priest in ancient Greek mysteries who held the responsibility of interpreting sacred rites to initiates. The word “Hierophant” comes from the Greek words “hieros” (sacred) and “phainein” (to reveal).
In the Eleusinian Mysteries, the Hierophant was responsible for revealing the secrets of the cult to the initiates. He would recite sacred texts and perform rituals that were said to lead the initiates to a greater understanding of the divine.
In some traditions, the Hierophant was associated with the goddess Hekate, who was often invoked during the initiation rites. Hekate was a powerful goddess associated with magic and witchcraft, and was said to have the power to reveal hidden truths to those who sought her guidance.
