Wheel of Hekate
$245.00
Triskelion, triskeles or triquetra, is the synbolic representation of the division of a circle into three parts, like our cosmos which is divided into three levels: that of spirits, humans and gods. In all three of these, Hekate is a constant wayfarer.
In ancient Greece, the Triskelion is a motif of three legs extending from a central point. It was found as decorative in several items such as pottery, shields and coins with no clear meaning.
It is most likely that it was a symbol that showed movement, that of the Sun (and in this way it connects with Swastika) as well as of the Moon in its three different phases.
In 1835 Duc de Luynes concluded that the motif represents the Godess Hecate, who is also depicted as a three headed deity.
The artistic workshop LOGOS 373 inspired by the symbols of the ancients presents a special new design of a ritual offering disc for incense to Hecate. With three faces facing the directions of the world, the practitioner lights the incense in the center of the wheel, following the teachings of the Chaldean Oracles where the first god is identified with the Paternal Monad that reigns silently from the abyss, while Hecate is the live fire of the cosmos, the Soul of the World!
Snakes like rays radiate the creative glory of the inner mysteries, while the three arms (holding a torch, a knife and a key) represent earth, sea, and sky, of which Hecate holds dominion over.
– The disc is made of excellent quality porcelain processed with aging technique
– Its dimensions are 30X30 cm
– The disc is not a museum copy, but a unique design, a fine product of reasearch and inspiration of our artistic workshop.
