Thelemic Shroud of Transition
$520.00
For most, death is a taboo; for a Thelemite, it is not. People fear death because they fear losing the pleasures life offers. A Thelemite knows that the core of existence — pure will, timeless and undisturbed by the transience of flesh— remains unaffected by bodily decay, rendering death merely an apparent shift within an ongoing spiritual journey.
For the man of the New Aeon, who embraces the metaphysics of the Book of the Law, death is a transition into a new orbit, as unique as each person’s journey through life.
This is why the Eleventh Collect from Liber XV, the Gnostic Mass penned by Aleister Crowley, serves as a guide to the beyond —similar in function to the Book of the Dead in ancient Egypt, the Tibetan Bardo Thodol, or the Orphic Texts in Ancient Greece— though without binding the soul’s path to any doctrine, instead celebrating each person’s unique choices and destiny.
In alignment with Thelemic worldview, the artistic workshop LOGOS 373 offers Shrouds meticulously designed for every frater and soror who embraces Thelemic religiosity, ensuring that their “greatest feast of death” (Liber AL II:41) is attended with the dignity it deserves.
The Shrouds consist of white linen strips, upon which the entirety of the text from the Gnostic Mass is hand-embroidered. The body rests upon a golden star (Liber AL I:3), first draped with the infinity of the heavens (as Nuit embraced the Egyptian within his sarcophagus), then progressively covered with strips along the length of the body, finishing at the feet and sealing with the ultimate wish for the accomplishment of will — the prime concern of every Thelemite.
Finally, the body is adorned with three strips repeating AUMGN as an affirmation of transcending creation (AU) and the silence of death (M) through GNosis, passing from the illusion of things to the awakening of eternal truths.
… “Let the Illusion of the World pass over thee, unheeded, as thou goest from the Midnight to the Morning!” (The Heart of the Master)
