Priest Robe

$318.00

In Liber XV, Aleister Crowley wrote that during the Gnostic Mass of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica, the Priestess robes the Priest «in his Robe of scarlet and gold». He gives no further description as which regalia should be on the Robe. In general, Crowley in his text does not become descriptive in great detail. One of the reasons is perhaps so that each local bodies can enrich the Mass with the tradition of their countries, as has happened in every other religious tradition around the world.
In any case, the basic elements in the Priest Robe (or stole) are deep red and gold, colors that denote the flame of the sun, the energetic element, and life itself. That is why, as the Priest emerges from the blackness of the Tomb, he rises to his true existence in order to act in the secret alchemy of the Gnostic Mass.
